Born in Downey, California, on this day in 1959, Alfred Matthew Yankovic, the Grammy-winning musical parody artist better known as Weird Al, found his way to the blues in 1989 (and, yes, the music is solid and the lyrics are pretty funny). Here he is manning the accordion, which he started playing at age 7, for a live version of “Generic Blues.”
