Grammy-winning saxophonist and bandleader Jimmy Carpenter continues to establish himself as one of today’s premier blues instrumentalists. His latest release, Just Got Started (Gulf Coast Records), debuted at #3 on the Apple Blues Chart and #10 on the Billboard Blues Chart, earning widespread acclaim for its blend of blues, soul, and New Orleans-inspired grooves. Produced by acclaimed producer Kid Andersen at the legendary Greaseland Studios, the album marks Carpenter?s sixth critically praised solo release. A two-time Blues Music Awards winner for Best Instrumentalist/Horn, Carpenter received his 11th BMA nomination in 2026. He tours internationally with his own band, performs as a member of Bill Murray & His Blood Brothers, and serves as Musical Director for the renowned Big Blues Bender. Over a career spanning four decades, Carpenter has performed with artists including Mike Zito, Tinsley Ellis, and Walter Wolfman Washington.
