The Club
Our Story
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to New England’s premier listening room, Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club.
Your hosts – brothers Michael and Peter Labrie and their team – have put heart and soul into creating a one-of-a-kind venue for you to enjoy extraordinary musical, cultural, and culinary experiences.
The spirit of Jimmy’s dates to the early 1900s when the local YMCA was erecting a landmark structure that would enliven this seaside city’s cultural and community life — and when musical pioneers in the deep south were discovering and developing uniquely American art forms that would become known as Jazz and Blues.
Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club aims to honor both of these traditions — serving as a community connecting point for arts and culture, and as a world-class “listening room” built for music lovers and the inspiring artists who perform here.
Performers and patrons alike will discover an architecturally breathtaking, acoustically superior music venue and club that is decked out to deliver an “ultimate sensory experience.” Michael Labrie says the family’s shared vision is to welcome visitors to a memorable space that aims to earn a reputation as “one of the top clubs in the country and a cultural center of the city.”
Overview
Serious Jazz, Blues & Cuisine!
First and foremost, Jimmy’s is about the music — both for the gifted musicians who grace our stage and for the patrons who savor the thrill of being “in the room” with top-tier jazz and blues artists.
Meticulously engineered with superior acoustics, sound equipment and lighting, Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club is an intimate, state-of-the-art venue that nods to the classic jazz clubs of the past and forges new terrain with leading-edge recording and live-streaming capabilities. The goal is to give artists the musical freedom they deserve in a wholly original, multi-level “listening room” where all the conditions are in place for that special connection between artist and audience to truly come alive.
Located in the heart of Portsmouth, NH’s vibrant and historic Market Square district, Jimmy’s can accommodate up to 600 — formal seating fronts the stage and the club’s high-tech sound and video systems allow patrons to wander and socialize with clear sight lines throughout the venue’s unique spaces.

AUTHORIZED RESELLERS & TICKETING SCAMS
In New Hampshire, reselling legitimate tickets is legal (even at a higher price than the face value of the ticket). Tickets sold by resellers or brokers, including many online websites, often have substantial service fees and/or markup to the original price, resulting in prices that are significantly higher than face value. Additionally, when you purchase your tickets from anyone other than the Box Office at Jimmy’s Jazz and Blues Club, Jimmy’s Box Office cannot vouch for the seller’s credibility or the ticket’s authenticity. The most reliable way to purchase legitimate tickets at face value is to always begin your search on our website at jimmysoncongress.com and/or by calling the box office.
