Dustan Knight
Dustan Knight is a professional artist, working full time in her Button Factory painting studio after years of teaching art at college and graduate levels here in New England. She earned her MFA from Pratt Institute and spent the Eighties participating in the downtown NYC art scene as exhibiting artist, bi weekly published art reviewer for ArtSpeak, docent at the Whitney and New Museum, and Gallery Manager at RCErf Gallery in SoHo and the Rotunda Gallery in Brooklyn.
She exhibited throughout the lower East Village and was chosen as an artist resident at MacDowell and Cummington Artist Colony (She also has fond memories of being office manager at Pearl Paint on Canal Street.) In the Nineties, Dustan earned a Masters in Art History from Boston University and began her teaching career in academia.
She continued to exhibit through-out NH, Mass and Me. She is the recipient of several Per-Cent for the Arts awards, The NH State Art Award, and a recent runner up in the prestigious Piscataqua Artist Advancement Grant. In 2017 a book about her art was published by Rockport Publishers and Quarry books and she was included in a coffee table book titled “Ten Piscataqua Painters”. Dustan continues to paint, publish and teach privately.
