Cedric Burnside

Its an exciting time to see Cedric because the size of venues hes playing on this current tour havent quite caught up with his newly GRAMMY endorsed levels of brilliance. The audience is absolutely in awe. Theres a humble genius to Cedric Burnside, and the whole show has been a masterclass disguised as a party, raves ROCK AND BLUES MUSE (2022 Live Show Review, United Kingdom). I Be Trying as a whole is destined to be a classic. The entire album is a showcase of modern Mississippi Hill Country Blues. This album is the one that solidifies Cedric Burnsides legacy as one of the finest blues artists in the country, states AMERICAN HIGHWAYS (2021 Album Review I Be Trying).

GRAMMY Award Winner, 3x GRAMMY Nominee and 10x Blues Music Award-Winning Guitarist, Drummer, Singer & Songwriter CEDRIC BURNSIDE was born in the blues as much as he was in funk, rock, soul, and hip hop. These latter sensibilities are reflected across his work, as he drives Mississippi Hill Country blues into grooves that lend themselves readily to an urgent, modern moment. Burnsides 3 GRAMMY Award Nominated albums, the 2015 Descendants of Hill Country, 2018s Benton County Relic, and 2021s I Be Trying (which won the 2022 GRAMMY Award for Best Traditional Blues Album) are all capstone statements for a lifetime of musical labor channeling the blues spirit on drums, guitar & vocals in the North Mississippi Hill Country tradition. Burnside has 14 Blues Music Awards Nominations, winning 12 of them including 8 wins for Blues Drummer of the Year. He also has 3 Blues Music Award Nominations for Traditional Blues Male Artist of the Year (2016, 2019 & most recently in 2022).
