Chris Bergson and Ellis Hooks bring their “gut-busting NY blues” (MOJO) to Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club! Known for their “genuine Delta soul blues” (Blues Magazine), their sound blends Hooks’ soulful voice, reminiscent of Sam Cooke and Otis Redding, with Bergson’s “masterclass in subtlety and sophistication” (Blues Matters, UK). Bergson, an Associate Professor at Berklee College of Music, has performed with legends like Norah Jones, Levon Helm, and B.B. King. They’ll perform music from their latest album Comforts of Home, praised by MOJO (Four Stars) and named one of Soul Bag’s Best Albums of 2024. Bergson and Hooks have toured Europe, including the Cognac Blues Passions Festival. They’ll be joined by Bruce Bears, Jesse Williams, and Mark Teixeira New England blues/roots veterans who’ve performed with Duke Robillard, the North Mississippi All-Stars, and others.
