Most recently, Barron?s 2016 album ‘Book Of Intuition’ was Nominated for a GRAMMY® (Best Jazz Instrumental Album), and in 2021 he was Nominated for a GRAMMY® (Best Improvised Jazz Solo) for the song Kick Those Feet.

Upon Moody?s recommendation Dizzy Gillespie hired Barron in 1962 without even hearing him play a note. After 5 years with Dizzy, he played with Freddie Hubbard, Stanley Turrentine, Milt Jackson & Buddy Rich. Barron has released over 40 acclaimed albums as a leader.
