Victor Wooten & The Wooten Brothers “Sweat Tour”

“As the bassist in the Flecktones, Wooten has a funkier style than Pastorius, but both were masters of intricate jazz melodies as well as complex R&B arrangements. Every player in the Flecktones is a master, but when Wooten busts out a solo at a concert every jaw in the audience drops to the ground,” states ROLLING STONE. “As anyone who has seen him play knows, Victor Wooten is a wizard with a bass guitar,” raves BASS PLAYER MAGAZINE. “Victor Wooten is one of those pioneering masters. Joining Jaco Pastorius and Stanley Clarke as the most influential bass players in history…it was the virtuoso’s fretwork that left heads shaking in the foyer post show. “Amazing” and “blown away” were words heard over and over as the theater disgorged its patrons into the cool night,” says the DENVER POST (2021 Live Performance Review).

5x-GRAMMY® Award-Winner & 12x-GRAMMY® Award Nominated Bassist Extraordinaire VICTOR WOOTEN is a legendary bass player...one of the best in the world. What Wooten did with bass has almost no parallel in modern music. After Wooten, every bassist in the world began to think differently, much as guitarists did after Hendrix. Young bassists now start from a different set of assumptions than their predecessors did a generation ago. Wooten's blazing, percussive chops lit a fire for many of them, as did his explorations of melody, nuance and phrasing. Wooten is a 3x-"Bass Player of the Year" Award-Winner from Bass Player Magazine and is the first person to win the award more than once! He was also ranked #10 in the "Top 10 Bassists of All-Time" by Rolling Stone! Wooten has been the bassist for Béla Fleck and the Flecktones since the group's formation in 1988, and is a member of the band SMV with two other bassists, Stanley Clarke & Marcus Miller.
