    Vanessa Collier, a four-time Blues Music Award winner and twelve-time nominee, returns with her sixth album, Do It My Own Way (Phenix Fire Records, September 13). Recorded on analog gear with the band largely in one room, the album channels classic Memphis soul from Stax and Hi Records, highlighted by powerhouse vocals, stirring saxophone solos, and soulful horn arrangements. Collaborating with legendary Hi Records organist Rev. Charles Hodges and frequent partners Laura Chavez, Scott Sutherland, and Byron Cage, Collier also produces, arranges, and performs on guitars, saxophones, flute, and vocals. Tracks like the title song and "Wild As a Rainstorm" celebrate personal empowerment and resilience, while Rosetta honors Sister Rosetta Tharpe's trailblazing legacy. With influences ranging from Mavis Staples to James Brown, Collier blends blues, soul, R&B, and Americana into a contemporary yet timeless sound. A Berklee graduate, she launched her career with Joe Louis Walker's band.

  • Dan Wilson Organ Trio

    Guitarist Dan Wilson's musical path began in the church community of Akron, Ohio, where gospel first shaped his sound and purpose. Channeling the lineage of Wes Montgomery and George Benson while absorbing blues, hip-hop, and the phrasing of great horn players, Wilson has developed what many describe as a deeply lyrical and personal voice. After graduating from Hiram College, he made his recording debut with Joe McBride and rose to international prominence through his work with Joey DeFrancesco, earning a GRAMMY® nomination for Project Freedom. Wilson has also toured with Christian McBride, who produced his acclaimed album "Vessels of Wood and Earth" for Brother Mister Productions. Having shared the stage with leading jazz luminaries, Wilson continues to balance performing, bandleading, and education, bringing what he calls "a personal dialect" to the modern guitar-organ tradition.

    Jumaane Smith has performed on 5 GRAMMY winning records (selling more than 60 million copies), 2 Emmy-nominated TV performances, the GRAMMY Awards with Stevie Wonder, in Steven Spielberg's "West Side Story," and more. Jumaane has toured to such world-class venues as Jazz At Lincoln Center, Birdland Jazz Club, The Blue Note, Tanglewood, Ronnie Scott's, Vail Jazz Festival, Java Jazz Festival, Jazz Alley, North Star Festival, Marian's Jazz Room, Rochester International Jazz Festival, Catalina Island Jazz Festival, and many more. Musical legends that Jumaane has worked with include Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock, Christian McBride, Aretha Franklin, Barbra Streisand, Alicia Keys, Jon Batiste, Kamasi Washington, Theo Croker, and Michael Bublé as his long-time featured trumpet/vocals soloist. As a full scholarship recipient at the Juilliard School of Music's Jazz Studies program, Wynton Marsalis was Smith's primary trumpet teacher.

  • Dezron Douglas Quartet

    Bassist, composer, bandleader, and educator Dezron Douglas has established himself as a major force in contemporary creative music. A protégé of the great Jackie McLean, the Downbeat Magazine 2019 Rising Star is known for his work with Pharoah Sanders, Ravi Coltrane, Cyrus Chestnut, David Murray, Louis Hayes, Enrico Rava and also with piano legends George Cables, Eric Reed, Mulgrew Miller and Benny Green. In 2021, he joined the Trey Anastasio Band. Dezron has recorded on more than 100 albums, contributing to the artistry of numerous bandleaders and maintaining an integral presence in the sounds of his peers, including Keyon Harrold, Jonathan Blake, Melanie Charles, and Makaya McCraven. He is an active music educator, currently on the Jazz Studies faculty at NYU Steinhardt. He has released six albums as a lead artist and maintains a variety of projects that he uses as platforms for his compositions.

    Yasmin Williams is an innovative guitarist and composer whose expansive instrumental style has made her one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary acoustic music. Her latest album Acadia, released on Nonesuch Records, marks an exciting evolution from solo performer to collaborative artist, featuring notable musicians including Aoife O'Donovan and Immanuel Wilkins. Williams' unique compositional approach often begins with what she describes as "ruminating" on a single note until a piece naturally unfolds. Beyond her remarkable fingerstyle guitar technique, she performs on kora, harp guitar, banjo, and electric guitar, creating richly layered textures. Following her acclaimed 2021 album Urban Driftwood, Acadia expands her sound into three distinct musical landscapes, moving from folk traditions to atmospheric soundscapes and experimental arrangements, balancing virtuosic precision with luminous, floating melodies.

  • Scintillating Brazilian Jazz~Walker, Stagnaro, Lubarsky, Colon

    TRIAD+ celebrates the vibrant spirit of Brazilian jazz with an all-star quartet of internationally acclaimed musicians: drummer Mark Walker, bassist Oscar Stagnaro, pianist Maxim Lubarsky, and saxophonist Edmar Colón. Originally formed as a trio by multi-GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY winners Walker, Stagnaro, and Lubarsky, the group expanded when Puerto Rican saxophonist Colón joined for a special performance at Boston's GBH. Their electrifying program pays tribute to the legendary Brazilian composer Hermeto Pascoal, whose genre-defying music blends Brazilian folk traditions, jazz, and fearless experimentation. The quartet's recent release, "Hermetic: A Tribute to Hermeto Pascoal Live at GBH", captures the adventurous spirit of this project.
