Dubbed by Rolling Stone as "a genre unto herself," Brooklyn, NY-based Kaki King has proven to be just that. Her career has taken her all over the world, sharing stages with Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters, contributing music to award-winning films (Sean Penn's Into The Wild), and performing at the London Jazz Festival and the Paris Les Femmes s'en Melent. Her explorations into the guitar and multimedia have led to the creation of groundbreaking work such as The Neck Is A Bridge To The Body, Modern Yesterdays, and a new multi-media musical production for children called BUGS. Kaki continues to create, perform, and lend her musical voice to the forefront of contemporary music, as shown on her 2025 EP, Tutto Passa, and recent album, SEI, the soundtrack to a unique performance piece where guitarists become dancers, coordinating their whole bodies to perform the rigors of both choreography and composition. Endorsed by Ovation Guitars, Kaki released the EP Stop Sometime last August.

Vanessa Collier, a four-time Blues Music Award winner and twelve-time nominee, returns with her sixth album, Do It My Own Way (Phenix Fire Records, September 13). Recorded on analog gear with the band largely in one room, the album channels classic Memphis soul from Stax and Hi Records, highlighted by powerhouse vocals, stirring saxophone solos, and soulful horn arrangements. Collaborating with legendary Hi Records organist Rev. Charles Hodges and frequent partners Laura Chavez, Scott Sutherland, and Byron Cage, Collier also produces, arranges, and performs on guitars, saxophones, flute, and vocals. Tracks like the title song and "Wild As a Rainstorm" celebrate personal empowerment and resilience, while Rosetta honors Sister Rosetta Tharpe's trailblazing legacy. With influences ranging from Mavis Staples to James Brown, Collier blends blues, soul, R&B, and Americana into a contemporary yet timeless sound. A Berklee graduate, she launched her career with Joe Louis Walker's band.
Jimmy's is kicking off the month of May with a massive main-stage anniversary celebration titled "10 Years of Glitter," featuring the reunion of the original powerhouse lineup: KB SWEETS, SAS, and NICKY V. After the overwhelming success of their holiday takeover in The Gallery, which saw a packed house of glitter, drinks, and non-stop dancing, we are officially "upgrading" this event to the Jimmy's main stage to accommodate the anticipated high demand and larger production scale. This high-energy night will feature a strictly all-vinyl set of timeless dance classics, leveraging the superior acoustics and expanded floor space of our premier performance area to deliver an authentic, analog-driven party atmosphere that serves as a definitive anchor for our early May programming.
