    Lexington, Kentucky's Magnolia Boulevard has emerged with a renewed sense of purpose, channeling what they call "Appalachian Soul": a rich blend of blues, soul, rock, and roots-driven storytelling. Formed by vocalist/guitarist Maggie Noelle and keyboardist Ryan Allen, the band draws deeply from their regional heritage, crafting songs that reflect lived experience, resilience, and emotional honesty. Their latest self-titled album, recorded with renowned Kentucky producer Duane Lundy, showcases eight songs steeped in blues and soul while freely traversing folk, rock, and Americana textures.   • Tommy Castro and the Painkillers

    Multiple award-winning guitarist, vocalist, and bandleader Tommy Castro is a California-based blues and rock powerhouse. For over four decades, he has captivated audiences with soul-drenched vocals, searing guitar work, and high-energy live shows. As frontman of Tommy Castro & The Painkillers, he has released 17 albums spanning horn-driven R&B, hot-blooded soul, gritty rock, and electric blues. With his eighth Alligator Records release, Closer To The Bone, Castro returns to his roots with what he calls "a real blues record, the way they would have made them back in the day." Produced by Christoffer 'Kid' Andersen at Greaseland Studio, it is his rawest and most direct blues effort to date. A ten-time Blues Music Award winner and four-time B.B. King Entertainer of the Year, Castro is renowned for his no-frills, 150-shows-a-year approach and fiercely loyal fanbase. Joe Bonamassa calls him "top of the heap among blues guitar players."

  • Makaya McCraven

    Makaya McCraven is a prolific drummer, composer and producer. His newest album, In These Times, is the triumphant finale of a project 7+ years in the making. It's a preeminent addition to his already-acclaimed and extensive discography, and it's the album he's been trying to make since he started making records. McCraven believes that the word "jazz" is "insufficient, at best, to describe the phenomenon we're dealing with." The artist, who has been aptly called a 'cultural synthesizer', has a unique gift for collapsing space, destroying borders and blending past, present, and future into poly-textural arrangements of post-genre, jazz-rooted 21st century folk music. Profiled in Vice, Rolling Stone, the Guardian, and NPR, among other publications, he and the music he makes today are at the very vanguard of that phenomenon. According to the New York Times, "McCraven has quietly become one of the best arguments for jazz's vitality".

  • Takuya Kuroda

    Kobe-born, Brooklyn-based trumpeter Takuya Kuroda is dedicated, and his eighth studio record, Everyday, is proof of that. Since 2022's Midnight Crisp praised by PopMatters as a 'future classic' Kuroda has continued his daily pursuit of the 'perfect blend of production and organic performance.' Everyday dives deeper into hip-hop and neo-soul, delivering a triumph of genre-blending modern jazz with sure-footed, virtuosic playing on trumpet, synth, and Rhodes. After studying composition at The New School, Kuroda performed with DJ Premier's Badder Band and Akoya Afrobeat and recorded for Blue Note and Concord. 'Groove is the foundation for all the tracks on Everyday, he says "a record built through constant creation, refinement, and forward motion. As Pitchfork noted, 'Kuroda's skill is radiating joy in drawing influence from so many forms."

From entertaining passersby as a busker on the streets of Paris, to captivating thousands on sold out world tours - singular Peyroux has channeled the power of music to bring people together, dialogue with audiences and build a community.
